Early Years Department

The Early Years programme at Rathore caters for up to 16 children in their pre-school year.

There is a morning session from 9.00am to 11.30am and an afternoon session from 12.15 pm to 2.45 pm.

All the children are provided with opportunities to develop a range of skills in a stimulating and caring environment. Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy sessions are included during the morning and afternoon session as is appropriate for each child. The children are encouraged to develop physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally while being observed in all areas of the NI Curriculum as they learn through play.

The school year begins with the class teacher visiting each child and their parents at home then the children are phased into school. Structured Parent Teacher Meetings are scheduled during the school year and parents are also most welcome to come along to a range of school events throughout the year.

The class team work in regular collaboration with each of the therapy teams on site along with other external agencies from Education and Health to ensure all associated professionals are made aware of each child’s specific needs and have the opportunity to contribute to their educational programme.

The children’s time in Early Years is drawn to a closure in June with a Graduation ceremony at which each child’s individual progress and achievements are celebrated. This is a beautiful morning of celebration and Families and friends are invited along to join in this very special event!
