Protective Pal

22 February 2018 (by admin)

A number of secondary students from Dungannon have developed a unique safety app designed to help a broad spectrum of people living with learning difficulties. The aim of Protective Pal is to help those in need whenever they're feeling distressed.

GPS Tracking for 3 contacts – Activated by a touch of a button. Personal info section – So if stopped by PSNI can show their personal information and disability (if any). Includes a diary section for any medication. Tracking - Monitors the location of the person in real-time and allows them to check-in safely once they have arrived and then left their destination. Timed-sessions – If the person fails to end their session safely, a session expiry alert will be sent to their 3 contacts via SMS text. Panic button – The panic button allows the user to send immediate panic alert if they are in trouble and need assistance. This alert can be triggered in the app at any time, even if a session is not running.
